2017 Ram Sale Results

The Cameron family hosted The Yanko on property ram sale on the ram plot next to the homestead on the banks of The Yanko Creek.

70 of the 72 rams offered sold to a top of $3800 for an average price of $1759. Poll Merino rams were in particular demand with 24 of the 25 Poll rams averaging $2035.

46 of the 47 Merino rams sold to a top of $3750 the second top of the sale with an average of $1614 recorded.

The top priced ram tested 18.5 micron and was purchased by Peter Thompson, West Wyalong for $3800.

“The sheep suit our country, we are looking for sheep with open plain heads and good doing sheep” Mr Thompson said.

The top price Merino ram and second top over all was purchased by BA & NL Robertson, Rossbridge, Victoria. The son of The Yanko Enfield he measured 16.3 micron.

It was pleasing to see return and new buyers from Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and thanks goes to all bidders and under bidders on the day.
