Ian Cameron placed 2nd in National Merino Challenge
Hugh and Heather’s son Ian who is studying Agricultural Economics at the University of Sydney achieved 2nd place in the Tertiary section of the National Merino Challenge run by AWI and held in Melbourne on 24/25 May, 2014.
Tertiary winners Ian Cameron (second), Jordan Hoban (first) and Oliver Vidor (third).

Michael Elmes appointed as Sheep Classer
Hugh and Heather are pleased to welcome Michael Elmes as Classer for The Yanko Merino. Michael has a long association with the Riverina and has a practical approach to merino selection. Stuart Hodgson classed The Yanko sheep for 8 years and has accepted a new position with AWI. We wish him well with his new direction.

The Yanko June/July 2012 drop ewes depastured to Poll Dorset rams was the top price for Merinos at Deniliquin Store Sheep Sale in January 2014.
